Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell
We were on a mission to a nearby ruined town, guarding the Queen, and investigating the rumors of the undead. It was an ambush. Hired assassins were there to greet us, or rather, me. Someone had hired one of the killing houses to assassinate me. Evidently I am a threat to the status quo.
Thankfully though I fell to the dark shadows thankfully by the grace of my friends I survived. Arius brought me to the healing hands of Thakshtay and Arrora’s mysterious psionics were able to subdue the assassins.
Gavin was able to use his black magic to dominate the minds of the weak. It’s a power we’ve warned about and been victim to before. Strange that he relies on it so. But there is a greater evil at hand than bending the minds of others. And while it is distasteful sometimes we must compromise. At least no life is lost and that is a blessing.
After much debate it is decided to go see the Silver Flame and speak directly to the Keeper. During my prayers I could feel a dark pressing on my heart. It was a suffocating, cloying feeling. It was fear. We had to leave immediately.
Teleporting, in to the cathedral we were greeted with a series of shadow demons and their possessed victims. I was able to dispel some of the spirits and we saved many knights. But some fell to their domination. This is what happens when Dazen’s power is wielded by a heart of darkness. I must ensure his remains on the side of light though the source of his power is on the edge of night.
Charging through the cathedral we gathered our full might and arrived at the door to the Chamber of the Silver Flame. It was sealed and inside we could hear the echoes of screams. Demons were openly attacking.
Dazen blasts a hole through the door as no other magic or strength can get us through. Inside is a scene of nightmares. The Keeper is slain. Dancing demons have poured open their black souls into the Flame. The Traitors are here with someone who appears to be the Queen. My thoughts go to Arrora, neither here alive nor dead.
I look to my friends who have brought me here. They make me strong. But I must be stronger now. I know what must be done.
